This homeowner was doing a full kitchen renovation including new granite countertops, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, travertine stone backsplash and of course, refinishing their kitchen cabinets! They chose their granite and backsplash first (from Affinity Stoneworks in Alpharetta, GA) and we worked the color of their cabinets around that. Together with the homeowner, we decided on a creamy white (Classic Gray by Benjamin Moore) with a soft gray glaze (Kendall Charcoal, also by Benjamin Moore) to settle in the natural grains of the oak and emphasize the subtle detailing of the cabinets.
To contrast the brightness of the cabinets, we did the island with a black distressed finish, which also matched the dark tones in the granite. Having the dark island really pulled everything together!
This home also featured a small butler’s pantry just off of the kitchen, which we finished with a detailed gray distressed look. The homeowner loved the result, and we loved making their vision come to life!
